This was a new 451,459 sq. ft. seven story inpatient tower housing the Julia and George Argyros Emergency Department, the Tidwell Procedure Center, radiation and imaging department, full service pediatric lab and the CHOC Children’s Heart Institute.

In addition to those it has a second floor full of “Enhanced Family Amenities” such as the Seacrest Studios, the Disney Turtle Talk with Crush, a 7,000 sq. ft. Café & Roof Garden. The new tower was attached and shares services with the existing patient tower, which presented some unique challenges, such as providing MEP services from the new tower to the existing during construction.

Inspector of Record services have been provided for this project for its entire duration. Our IOR oversaw inspections, verifies structural integrity, and documents progress to guarantee a safe, high-quality environment for patients and hospital staff.
