On the UHS Inland Valley Medical Center replacement hospital project, RF10 served as the vital bridge between state safety regulations and physical construction. Operating under the jurisdiction of HCAI, RF10 provided continuous, rigorous inspection services to ensure the $400M+ facility is built to the highest seismic and fire-life safety standards.
Key Responsibilities & Contributions:
RF10 worked daily alongside UHS (Owner), DPR Construction (GC), and HOK (Architect) to proactively identify and resolve code-related challenges, keeping the project on its 2026 delivery schedule.
Our team oversaw the continuous inspection of all structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, ensuring the project adhered to the strict OSHPD-1 standards required for acute care hospitals in high-seismic zones.
Additionally, from the groundbreaking of the New Central Utility Plant (CUP) to the final finishes of the 7-story patient tower, RF10 verified the integrity of 100 new patient beds, 9 Operating Rooms, and 30 ER treatment bays; and played a lead role in the “Closeout” phase with meticulous documentation and field verification as the primary drivers in securing the Certificate of Occupancy (CofO), allowing Southwest Healthcare to begin staff training and clinical logistics.
As this was the first OSHPD-1 hospital in California to use prefabricated panelized exterior walls, RF10 also provided specialized inspection for these off-site components, ensuring their seamless and safe integration into the main structure.
